Senior Legacy Symposium
The Senior Legacy Symposium allows the Saint Louis University community — including faculty, administration, staff, students and alumni — to see the academic possibilities and contributions of SLU's graduating seniors.
Each year, graduating students from academic units across the University present research and papers, perform creative works, and share internship and service-learning experiences. In doing so, they leave behind a major contribution to their field of study and to the University.
2025 Symposium
The 18th annual Senior Legacy Symposium will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, in the Busch Student Center. A reception for all participants will follow from 5 to 6 p.m.
Each undergraduate department/program is invited to select up to three student projects for presentation at this year’s symposium. Invited students may submit a presentation in the following formats:
- A traditional poster presentation
- A creative presentation (with limited spots available)
- An individual oral presentation or
- An interdisciplinary research panel in which students share information about their projects and engage in dialogue with students from other fields.
Students will also be able to share project details on the Senior Legacy Symposium website.
Abstract Submission
Students submit only an abstract of their project to be uploaded to the Legacy Symposium site.
Abstracts should be limited to 250 words. The abstract should summarize the project, including outcomes if applicable. In addition, the abstract should clearly state the significance of the project in terms that can be understood by a general scholarly audience and clearly convey the student’s original analytical, critical or creative contribution to the discipline.
Deadlines
Faculty representatives from each department and program are encouraged to submit their nominations by Friday, March 7, or to contact legacy@slu.edu to nominate at another time. Nominated students must accept their invitations by Friday, March 28.
